Legal Policies

Bid for Wine allows you to buy wine from or sell wine to another party if you have the legal capacity to do so.

The sale and purchase of alcohol in Singapore is regulated by law and you are thus advised to be aware of such laws.

  • If you are a holder of a relevant liquor licence issued by the Public Entertainment and Liquor Licensing Unit, then you may trade within the terms of that licence.
  • Unlicensed users may sell any wines they own that are consigned to us, as we are licensed.
  • If you do not hold a licence, there are some other circumstances in which you may sell alcohol directly, and you are advised to familiarise yourself with the circumstances before you sell alcohol.
If you are not satisfied that you are legally entitled to deal directly with a potential customer then you must use our consignment process under 'Sell Wine' to consign the wine to us.

Please note that, unless otherwise agreed, we can only accept wines consigned via the consignment process.

Please contact us if you wish to discuss consigning wine to us.

Users of Bid for Wine must be over 18, or if you are based outside Singapore you must meet local legal age requirements relating to the sale and purchase of alcohol in that jurisdiction.

If you are registering as a business, you must have the authority to commit the organisation to legal agreements.

You must be legally able to sell the item(s) you submit for sale on BidforWine.sg.

Please be aware that Bid for Wine may not be used for the sale of wine or other alcoholic beverages imported into Singapore unless they are held in bond or have had Singapore duty paid on them.
